Programme & Ticket:

Ian Harte was again on the mark with another free-kick when he opened the scoring in the seventh minute in the first team's final pre-season match. Lee Bowyer also kept up his good form and netted the second goal five minutes before the half-time break. The only substitutions United made were in the striking roles where Mark Viduka made way for Darren Huckerby and Michael Bridges was replaced by Alan Smith. Huddersfield made many substitutions starting in the seventeenth minute with Chris Holland replacing Chris Beech. The half-time break saw Robert Edwards replace Gregg Berhalter followed eleven minutes later by the double substitution of Simon Baldry for Ben Thornley and Kevin Gallen for Kenny Irons. In the seventy-eighth minute Sebastien Sansoni replaced Dean Gorre and three minutes later came the final substitution of Chris Hay for Clyde Wijnhard. Martyn Margetson was an unused substitute.
